Xuchang University is a respectable university located in the city of Xuchang, Henan Province. Henan is a Province of the People's Republic of China, in the central part of the country. Henan is often referred as Zhongyuan or Zhongzhou "central plain land" or "midland", although the name is also applied to the entirety of China proper. Henan is the birthplace of Chinese civilization and Confucianism with over 3,000 years of recorded history, and remained China's cultural, economic, and political center until approximately 1,000 years ago. Although the name of the province means "south of the Yellow river", approximately a quarter of the province lies north of the Yellow River, also known as the "Huang He". With an area of 167,000 square kilometers, Henan covers a large part of the fertile and densely populated North China Plain. With economic and social developments, Henan achieved the 5th highest in total economic production in the country. Furthermore; Xuchang for the past 8 years has been ranked 3rd at the prefecture-level for city development and sheer beauty. Xuchang owns natural beauty: the National Civilized City, the National Health City, the National Forest City and the National Garden City. All of these wonders, sufficient resources along with the educational development and a populous labor-force, it also boosts a great market space for commerce. Henan’s location is the pivot-point for transportation, communication, distribution and movement of people, goods and information, which are essential for an International Centre and global Intelligent Hub.

   Xuchang University has a long history, spanning over 70 years. XCU's campus covers an area of more than 1.1 million square meters with a constructional foot-print of 810,000 square meters and teaching equipment worth around RMB 241 million. Xuchang University has 64 undergraduate majors and 16 specialized majors along with around 25,300 full-time students and 1,560 members of staff. Xuchang University was part of the first batch of "local undergraduate colleges and universities in the transformation and development of pilot units" and the first "exemplary application of technical types of undergraduate colleges", and selected nationally "thirteen" in production and education, integration development and project application-oriented along with university construction projects, 6 experimental teaching demonstration centers in  in colleges and universities of Henan Province. It is the training base of outstanding legal talents, the professional pilot of the training mode of engineering education talents in Henan Province, and the experimental area of teacher education reform and innovation in Henan Province. We jointly train graduate students with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Central China Normal University, Southwest Petroleum University, Zhengzhou University, Henan University and also recruit foreign students.

   Xuchang University currently carries out Sino-foreign cooperation with the setting up the International Education Institute which specializes in Sino-foreign education and relations. Our university is building and developing partnerships with Russia, Canada, the United States of America, Great Britain and India. Currently there are 11 undergraduate programs, 4 specialized majors and over 3,700 students.
